Simple File Cleanup

Support

Simple File Cleanup is a Mac app for understanding what’s using disk space and cleaning up large or duplicate files. All analysis happens on your Mac; files are never uploaded.

Getting started

  1. Add one or more folders with Add Folders….
  2. Set the large file size threshold (for example 10 MB).
  3. Optionally enable Ignore hidden files and Ignore common caches.
  4. Choose Run Scan.
  5. Review results in the Folders, Large files, and Duplicates tabs.

Folders

See a size tree for each scanned root. Expand folders to drill down. The Share column shows how Videos, Photos, Documents, and Other contribute to each item’s size. With more than one root folder, you can collapse an entire root.

Large files

Lists files at or above your threshold. Select a file to preview it. Use Space for macOS Quick Look, and move unwanted files to Trash when you’re ready.

Duplicates

After a scan, run Find Duplicates to compare file contents. The list shows copies that appear across different folders so you can keep one and remove the rest. You can pause, resume, or stop a long duplicate search and keep results found so far.

Language

Use the flag control in the title bar to switch between English, Français, and Español.
